GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP
Global Citizenship
Who Is A Global Citizen?
According to me a global citizen is someone who identifies, with being part of an emerging world community and whose actions contribute to building this community’s values and practices.” Historically, human beings have always formed communities based on shared identity. Such identity gets forged in response to a variety of human needs— economic, political, religious and social. As group identities grow stronger they articulate their shared values, and build governance structures to support their beliefs.

Why Do You Think That Being A Global Citizen Is SomeThing Important In Our Society?
Nowadays even forces of global engagement are helping some people identify as global citizens who have a sense of belonging to a world community. This growing global identity in large part is made possible by the forces of modern information, communications and transportation technologies.
Those of us who see ourselves as global citizens are not abandoning other identities, such as allegiances to our countries, ethnicities and political beliefs. However, as a result of living in a globalized world, we understand that we have an added layer of responsibility; we also are responsible for being members of a world-wide community of people who share the same global identity that we have.

What Do You Mean By Global Education?
Within the educational system, the concept of global citizenship education (GCED) is beginning to supersede or overarch movements such as multicultural education, peace education, human rights education, Education for Sustainable Development and International Education.
Technology Play's An Important Role In Making Us A Global Citizen....
As all the people in this ERA are using many means of technology, most commonly used are Mobiles and Laptops. In increasing ways these technologies are strengthening our ability to connect to the rest of the world—through the Internet; through participation in the global economy; through the ways in which world-wide environmental factors play havoc with our lives; through the empathy we feel when we see pictures of humanitarian disasters in other countries. This has made many people a global citizen or has improved the communities practices and values.

What Are The Responsibilities Of A Global Citizen.....
#1 Responsibility to understand one’s own perspective and the perspectives of others on global issues.
# 2 Responsibility to respect the principle of cultural diversity.
# 3 Responsibility to make connections and build relationships with people from other countries and cultures.
#4 Responsibility to understand the ways in which the peoples and countries of the world are inter-connected and inter-dependent.
#5 Responsibility to understand global issues.
Poverty & Hunger
That number was 34 percent when a similar survey was conducted in 2009.
Who is the most caring nation? France, though over half of those surveyed in all countries said that poverty was a global issue.
The least caring? the United Kingdom, where 49 percent of people surveyed didn't mention global poverty as a big problem.
Most of the extreme poor live in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Most live in rural areas, are poorly educated, and are employed in the agricultural sector. Over half are under 18 years old.
Causes:
Poverty, food prices and hunger are inextricably linked. Poverty causes hunger. Not every poor person is hungry, but almost all hungry people are poor. Millions live with hunger and malnourishment because they simply cannot afford to buy enough food, cannot afford nutritious foods or cannot afford the farming supplies they need to grow enough good food of their own. Hunger can be viewed as a dimension of extreme poverty. It is often called the most severe and critical manifestation of poverty.

DRAWBACK OF GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP
Dual obligations: As a dual citizen, you are bound by the laws of both countries. For example, if you are a citizen of the United States and a country with mandatory military service, you can lose your U.S. citizenship under certain circumstances, such as if you serve as an officer in a foreign military that is engaged in a war against the United States. In general, U.S. policy recognizes that dual citizens might be legally obligated to fulfill military obligations abroad, and many can do so without jeopardizing their U.S. citizen status, but it is important to research each situation carefully.
Double taxation: The United States imposes taxes on its citizens for income earned anywhere in the world. If you are a dual citizen living abroad, you might owe taxes both to the United States and to the country where the income was earned. Income tax treaties are in effect, however, between the United States and many other countries that reduce or eliminate a U.S. citizen’s tax liability in the United States. A treaty between the United States and New Zealand, for example, overrides the income tax laws of each country to avoid double taxation. Even so, dual citizens may be required to file U.S. tax returns. Because tax laws are complicated and can change from year to year, be sure to consult with a qualified tax accountant. GLOBAL FINANCE
Several years after the crisis, the world economy is still struggling with slow growth, unconventional monetary policy in major economies, and constrained government budgets. It is vital that we find ways of making the financial system more resilient and able to withstand shocks in the market.
The crisis also caused a significant drop in levels of public trust and confidence in financial institutions. To function efficiently, the system needs to re-establish that trust.

INTERNATIONAL LAW & JUSTICE
Among the greatest achievements of the United Nations is the development of a body of international law—conventions, treaties and standards—central to promoting economic and social development, as well as to advancing international peace and security. Many of the treaties brought about by the United Nations form the basis of the law that governs relations among nations. While the work of the UN in this area does not always receive attention, it has a daily impact on the lives of people everywhere.
The International Law Commission was established by the General Assembly, in 1947, to undertake the mandate of the Assembly, under article 13 of the Charter of the United Nations to "initiate studies and make recommendations for the purpose of ... encouraging the progressive development of international law and its codification".
